Completely relaxed in heels across the Kudamm, drinking champagne at KaDeWe, sitting in the hotel lobby in a bright red dress and drinking coffee – who would have associated such things with me? Not even myself until not too long ago.
I don't think I've ever been as free as this week. But from the beginning. On Friday we went to the nail salon. This time I had baby boomers done in gel. It was sort of the start of my week. Then I got the rental car for our trip to Osnabrück. Then on Saturday it started. I didn't do any major planning of the outfits this time, just calculated very roughly that I would get through the day. In the end it turned out that I preferred the quick and easy styling with the denim dresses more often than I actually thought. The days in Osnabrück were very nice again. On Monday we celebrated Melanie's birthday with her family in a restaurant. Yes, there was watching and talking, but I even managed to just smile at people when I realized they were talking about me.
Tuesday we went on to Berlin. Do the shopping for dad's birthday and prepare everything. Together with my grand cousin, my cousin and their husbands, we then celebrated Papa's and Melanie's birthday (after). Shortly before last New Year's Eve I was drinking champagne at KaDeWe, but this time it was more relaxed. Even the little walk in pumps across the Ku’damm was really fun. On Saturday we went to Europcar in our dresses on the e-scooter to pick up the car for the rest of the tour. Very nice, very friendly and completely problem-free.
At the last stop of our journey we arrived in Bielefeld. For the meeting with my son I dressed up a bit. The make-up had to be removed and I exchanged the dress for pants and a white blouse. Admittedly, women's pants with rhinestones on the pocket edges, but much more neutral than the dress. In the end I also had the gel nails, it couldn't be completely hidden with them anyway. But the one and a half days were relaxed on all sides and the four of us (including our ex-wife) had a great time. I admit, however, that I enjoyed putting on my make-up again on Tuesday for the return trip and being able to slip into my beloved denim dress.
In this bright red dress, I put our luggage in the car and then entered the lobby. As a matter of course, I put my handbag on an armchair and got us two coffees at the coffee bar. I know that "of course" shouldn't be anything unusual, but it has been for me so far, so I just have to mention it again. I'm also still happy that I sat down at a table right by the glass entrance and was still relaxed.
When we got home, the make-up had to be removed again. However, I just went over foundation, eye shadow and lipstick with a dry cotton pad. That actually had to be enough for the video call with my boss. Another shirt over the dress and we could start. After that I freshened up and we took the car away. The short stop at Aldi is actually not worth mentioning anymore 😊
Yesterday I was at the wine festival, but more of that next time.
Until then
Your Nicole
