It's been 26 years - 26 years since I was able to spend a lot of time as Nicole in Luxembourg for the first time, to try myself. I already wrote about it here (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3). But first things first. Friends had suggested meeting Christian and Melanie for dinner near Koblenz and Melanie said we could make a detour via Luxembourg on the way back. I liked the idea and even more the fact that when I asked Nicole if she could go to Luxembourg, she immediately agreed. I reserved a table in MY name 😊 and thought about what to take with me, because one thing was clear to me, it wasn't just about the evening in the restaurant. One of the considerations concerned the meeting on Saturday evening. In the end it was the bootcut jeans over the flat women's boots that I had already worn in Europapark and the new terracotta-colored women's turtleneck. The only thing missing was the make-up, the rest was already Nicole. We also talked very relaxed and extensively about Nicole that evening at dinner. Which I found very comfortable and informal.
Similar to the previous evening (different wheelchair), we met for breakfast and then we continued to Luxembourg. Actually, I had planned to put on some make-up in the hotel and then stroll through the city for a few photos, but that literally fell through. Luckily the restaurant in the same building was just around the corner. Since the decision, I hadn't felt any nervousness or excitement, not during the planning, not when packing my suitcase, which didn't include anything for Christian, and not when I arrived at the hotel. But when she got ready, she got nervous. Even as we stood waiting in the entrance of the restaurant, she was there. But I forced myself to make eye contact with the waiters, I only briefly touched on the guests who were already there. No negative looks – that definitely helped. I had already seen from the pictures on the web how narrow the seating was. It wasn't really my thing, but I had to learn to deal with it. The waiters served us very friendly and when the gentleman at the next table, who at first seemed a bit strange and looked, together with his friend who had arrived in the meantime, toasted us in a friendly manner, all the tension left me. We spent a wonderful evening, also with one or the other nice conversation with the gentlemen from the next table.
The next morning then as Nicole for breakfast and then a short tour including some pictures. was anyone looking? Yes, but I didn't really care. A not insignificant step. When I get the rational "What's it your business?" and "Maybe you should sweep your own front door first." with the emotional "I'm being looked at oddly/disapprovingly." finally get together it will be even more relaxed. Shopping in the Auchan supermarket in a very busy shopping center was also a very relaxed activity.
The first time "several days" on the road and free - it will certainly not have been the last time.
See you very soon
Your Nicole
