Another topic - the hairstyle. Of course, this has been an issue for me for ages. Ever since I was a child, my hair has been quite short, only 5 millimeters at the shortest times. That's not exactly particularly suitable for being on the road enfemme. Of course there are wigs and I've had a few of those over the years. It weren't exactly the Manolo Blahnik among the wigs and they usually looked that way. I only bought a more expensive wig for Basel because Melanie didn't want me to go to Basel with the others. Yes, she looked a lot better, but it was a sudden change. Was that really me in the mirror? In addition, there are always the questions “Is it still sitting correctly? or "Is it going to leave soon?" (such as in Rüsselsheim). Of course it was still the better option than the short hair, but not perfect.
The Corona lock-down brought a turning point. In the four months without a visit to the hairdresser and various feedback that the not so short hair was better, an idea matured. I wanted a more feminine hairstyle. Preferably something that could be styled both ways. Of course, that couldn't be done with my barber shop. So I looked for a small hairdressing salon nearby, if possible a predominantly women's salon. On the first visit, I rather bashfully showed a photo of a woman's neck and asked to do something along these lines. The second time around, as the idea continued to mature, I was still quite nervous. Not only did the hair grow all the time, the goals also developed. First it should be a little bit more feminine, then something that could be styled both ways. In the end I was ready to aim for a women's cut. It should be a bob. Shorter in the back with a bow, longer on the sides, about halfway to the ear (meanwhile the hair is down to the earlobes and still growing).
Of course I had a sample photo again. My hairstylist said my hair is still a bit short for this but we could work on it by arching it a little higher and then growing it out. No sooner said than done, the way was set - first approach, let it grow, trim, let it grow. Melanie's suggestion to have my eyelashes tinted because it wasn't quite as conspicuous as mascara surprised me, but I gladly accepted it and it became an integral part of the visit to the hairdresser.
Something else has developed in the last few months. The further I got with my new hairstyle, the more feminine I went to the salon. In February for the first time with a skirt and red patent leather pumps. I just felt comfortable and welcome. That gave Nicole another boost. Thank you Ivonne for that.
So much for that, see you next time.
Your Nicole
