After the wine festival is before the wine festival. Last time I reported on my visit to the wine festival in Neu-Isenburg. After this little celebration, things got a few sizes bigger. Our friend Martina, with whom we used to enjoy going to the Schirn, suggested we go to the cinema this time and watch “Jeanne du Barry”. We were happy to follow this new idea and because the Rheingau Wine Festival was taking place in Frankfurt at the same time, we swapped a visit to a restaurant for a visit to the festival.
When the weather was great, we met at the Mohr winery stand and drank a cozy glass of wine. When I say comfortable, I also mean relaxed. In the midst of this crowd of people, I moved freely, got some wine, and walked to the cinema and back with the other two girls. I have no idea if anyone from the work there saw me, and I confess I wasn't interested. The little cinema was really fun and we all liked it, as well as the film itself. The preview also gave us ideas for the next meeting. After the film we went back to Moor's. All in all, a wonderful time.
The very next weekend we continued with an experience (not to mention the days in between). Nicole introduced herself to her godmother, whom she had only seen in photos. I wasn't excited when I got out in my red dress, I was just happy to meet my godmother in person again after such a long time, now as Nicole. It was just incredibly beautiful how she greeted me and didn't broach the subject at all, as if I had always been her goddaughter. We drove together to Melsungen for dinner. A small town with way too much cobblestones. Bright sunshine, delicious food and lots of time with my aunt – things have progressed quickly over the last few weeks. But that day didn't give me the feeling of moving forward, but rather of just having arrived in the here and now.
As did the following weekend with dear friends who visited us in Neu-Isenburg. But more on that next time.
Until then
Your Nicole
