Direction Bank

Our vacation was a small interruption in recent developments. I had my nails trimmed and painted in more neutral baby boomer colors. Yes, there were also some items of clothing that belonged to Nicole and I also took waterproof mascara with me. The latter was definitely a wise decision given the temperatures of over 42 degrees. Apart from the fact that it was a wonderful vacation, I went straight back to the nail salon on the first day. I would have liked to stay in Israel, but wearing a dress and full makeup again just felt good too.

Was it the two-week break or whatever? I don't know, but when I got back to work, I started to emphasize my eyes more aggressively. Not only, but especially when I was working from home, but also when I went to the office or was on a business trip last week. It felt good, it felt right and somehow I was happy with it.

Last Friday was another day when I was completely happy with both my make-up and my outfit. I just felt good. I don't know whether it made any difference on other occasions that I played around with the light or the camera settings, or "disappeared" in the darker part of the screen depending on who I was in a video conference with, to be a little less conspicuous. The day before yesterday, at least, I felt so content that I went into a video call with my boss's boss completely relaxed, without worrying about the light and make-up. The idea of appearing like that on a 27" screen didn't bother me. Even when a dear colleague wrote in the following meeting that I was wearing a very feminine outfit, nothing changed in my relaxation.

Afterwards, I wrote on LinkedIn, including a photo of my camera image, that I am happy to work at Commerzbank because there I can be who I am. The reactions to this post show me very clearly that this is exactly the case.

Let's see how long it takes.

I'm excited, are you?

See you then,

Your Nicole
