Last time I reported on my wonderful trip through Germany and already announced that there would be a wine festival. Somehow it didn't go as well as the days before. A skin problem on my chin made me refrain from shaving. Not bad at first. According to my weather app, rain was forecast for the early evening, so nothing with a wine festival. But in the end it turned out differently. So we went to the festival, unshaven, without make-up - just my twin. I confess I was unhappy with it. I didn't like going to the party like that. I had never experienced anything like this before. Without going into any more detail, I was dissatisfied with myself, with the world and really with everything - not good conditions for a nice evening.
That shouldn't happen again on Thursday. I cleaned up properly, put on a new blouse and this time it was just better. We had a great time with delicious Grüner Veltliner. Why not repeat? I had made the wine festival mine and it would remain so. So it made sense to go on Friday as well and if I was going to the wine festival on Saturday, why should I just dress up for it? Why not do the weekend shopping too? I had been groping my way for a while. Long blouse, a thin layer of foundation and a subtle lipstick, sometimes a scarf or a coat when it was cooler, but I’ve never been to the weekly market in 100%.
On 18 Aug 23 that changed. I went to the hairdresser, to the shopping center and even to festivals in Neu-Isenburg. This step was still open and I don't regret having closed this gap at all. You could say that as expected, I set off in a very relaxed manner. All stations went smoothly and our cheese dealer was the same as always. The Austrian ladies from the wine stand that we had visited the days before were very sweet. One of the ladies put her hand on my shoulder while I was buying cheese and greeted me very nicely. A nice gesture, which made me very happy and was totally informal. We said goodbye laughing until the evening.
We attended the festival on both Saturday and Sunday to have a glass of delicious wine before dinner. The temperatures reminded me of my first evening in Basel, but fortunately without a wig. I also really enjoyed the dress on Sunday when it was over 30 degrees.
Melanie was totally sweet and was happy for me. If I hadn't already known, this is where I realized again why I love her so much.
A toast to Melanie, the best woman in the world!
See you soon
