Christmas & Family

I already announced in the last post that the last days of the year were special for me. It was my weeks, so to speak. I had decided to use this time in my favor. The luggage did not contain any items that were reserved for Christian. Everything was feminine or dual-use from shoes to tops. The travel outfit was also feminine, including a handbag. But there was only a minimalist make-up with some foundation and mascara. I just didn't want to leave the time to Christian, but I also didn't want to turn up at Pumps Rock and Blüschen in Osnabrück. I wore a very light make-up not only when I arrived but also for the following days. However, I confess that I got a little braver every day. The eyes are still emphasized a little more strongly, a little rouge, the pants are not over the boots but inside – it was just nice to be me there too and to spend these days. When my mother-in-law then said to me that she thought it was great and that I should do as I wanted, I was admittedly really floored, but also more relaxed. I confess that I've always been a little jealous of my sister-in-law's outfits. Chic dresses and pumps, very elegant and exactly what I would like for me. Not only once did I imagine standing next to her just as chic.

When it then went on to Berlin, it shifted even further in my favor. The rest of the days of the year were mine, 100% Nicole, including meeting my grand cousins and cousins. After our family reunion in the summer, this was the second time that the girls had met and in this respect they were noticeably more relaxed from the start. A wonderful couple of hours that I really enjoyed. I think that after being welcomed into the family, Nicole will also host the following meetings.

In Berlin, a visit to KaDeWe was always popular. Sniff and buy on the grocery floor and end with a glass of champagne. The visit took place again this year, just with me 😊 If someone had told me I would drink champagne at KaDeWe, I would have choked on laughter. But we took the subway, made a tour of the 6th floor (which unfortunately isn't nearly as nice as it used to be), sat comfortably for a glass (not in a hidden corner but in the middle of the hustle and bustle) and took the subway back. It was so wonderfully normal, like the days before and after. family, shopping, being me. It was also the first time that I celebrated New Year's Eve and welcomed the new year. A year that will certainly bring a lot more.

Many thanks to everyone who accompanied me in 2022 and diligently read my blog. There is definitely still a lot to report in 2023.

Until then

Your Nicole
