I had been toying with the idea of having professional photos taken for a long time. In the meantime I had some practice in taking pictures of myself with the iPhone, but really sensible ones would certainly be nicer. Now that I was moving more and more freely in Neu-Isenburg, I finally wanted to put this into practice. For the first time, I replaced the original idea of a real shoot with various poses, maybe even somewhere outside in front of beautiful motifs, with simple “application photos” and a set of biometric photos. Not for ID cards or passports, but I might use them when I have my driver's license converted to the new format.
For this day I put extra effort into my hair and used an extra dose of hairspray. I've been to the photographer's several times, on the one hand to have photos taken and on the other hand to buy wine. An unusual combination, but I think the owner simply brought two of his passions together. I got the impression the photographer looked a bit confused when I entered the shop, but that didn't detract from his friendliness and professionalism. The photos were taken in a very pleasant atmosphere and the best ones were selected together.
In a good mood, I set off to continue shopping. The stop at the stationery store wasn't very nice. When I entered the store with a selected postcard, I could still hear a customer talking to the owner about "people like them". Our fishmonger was the complete opposite. At first I was surprised that he called me. In the course of the conversation, however, it became clear to him who was standing in front of him. It's really not often that I get such incredibly positive feedback. He told me how great he thought it was that I was going my own way and that I shouldn't let myself be influenced. He would be very happy to see me and said goodbye with the request that he now wanted to see me like this more often.
I think you can imagine how elated I made my way home, only briefly interrupted by a visit to the post office. In contrast to the old jackass in the stationery store, the young woman in the headscarf was totally friendly and didn't look the least bit disparaging.
Once again I experienced how close together positive and negative are. You know what? I am happy about the photos and the beautiful moments, the rest can have me 😊
See you soon
Your Nicole
