Nicole Behrend

​I'm Nicole from near Frankfurt and I work for a bank. Up until now I've always described myself as a part-time woman, but that's no longer true. ​

I can't really put myself into one of the usual categories. I don't feel like I was born in the wrong body, and yet sometimes or even more often I wish I'd been born a woman. But it's also more to me than just wanting to wear women's clothes. Nicole and her twin brother Christian are two personalities who have existed side by side for a long time. The longer and more often I have the opportunity to live as Nicole, the more I realize how the two merge into Nicole.

For many years Nicole led a life in secret. In 2017 Nicole stepped out of the shadows and has since become increasingly emancipated. I want to live my life freely and with equal rights. I'm not hiding anymore; everyone can know that I exist. I'm still working on it, but I'm becoming more and more confident in Neu-Isenburg and Frankfurt.

 

It shouldn't really be a secret in the bank anymore either, as Nicole is becoming more and more visible here. For those who are wondering in team meetings - yes, I wear make-up (especially) when I'm working from home and yes, my nails are gel nails from the nail salon. This no longer only applies to the days when I work from home. I arrive at the bank as Nicole with giant strides and I think it's great how openly my colleagues take it.
